Ascension: Game Soundtrack
 
Ascension, the new FPSZ shooter experience is made by Renwerx Studios, and is built around a concept designed for gamers from gamers. The music features some dark beats that set the perfect mood for the player. Lot of emphasis was based on making the music enjoyable as stand-alone but at the same time un-intrusive during game-play. That balance was achieved through putting detailed effects on every single percussion sample. Percussion samples come from a recent trip to the studio to get my own signature percussion library, many thanks to Alex Cohen for sitting with me for a few hours, banging on things. The samples were then put through the Impulse in Ableton Live. There are no screeching and overtly emotional string sections. The tracks are quite simple in their structure so the focus would shift more on the well-designed instruments.
